Meet Coach Janie

Janie is the founder and owner of KICK. With her unique experience and dedication to fitness, she is well-equipped to help you reach your fitness goals and love the process!

Janie's Experience

Janie is a certified personal trainer (CPT-NASM), boxing coach (USA Boxing), nutrition coach (CNC-NASM), kickboxing coach (9R Kickboxology) and stretching & flexibility coach (SFC-NASM).


With advanced education in cardiorespiratory fitness training and over ten years of experience in the fitness industry, she specializes in boxing and kickboxing education with an emphasis on whole-body strength training and stretching and flexibility technique.


Janie coached at 9Round Kickboxing Fitness for several years, and currently coaches classes at Portland City Boxing when she isn't doing individual sessions at KICK.

Janie's Programs

Janie believes in including three core elements to her fitness programs:


1.  Cardiorespiratory Fitness

2. Strength training 

3. Recovery


Janie takes a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) approach to her boxing and kickboxing sessions, so you are not only working on improving strength, form and techinique, but you are also working on your cardiorespiratory fitness. She uses kickboxing as a vehicle to not only have fun, but also to get your heart and your blood pumping! The recovery aspect of the workout is what makes the training sustainable so that you can be consistent with your fitness goals.

Janie's Passion

Janie has worked with clients of all skill levels and ages. Janie believes that weight lifting and regular exercise is vital to women's health as they age, and she is passionate about creating an environment that enables women to build strength, flexibility, and endurance that meets their individual needs.
